Be a FANATICON Volunteer!
We have some fun and exciting volunteer opportunities available for FANATICON! Take a look at the following list and let us know which area(s) you’d like to help out with! We greatly appreciate any time or assistance you can offer. Just email info@fanaticon.org and tell us you want to volunteer!
Before Saturday, May 21
• Swag Bags: Stuff promo bags with free comics, fliers, etc.
• Masks: Assemble FANATICON masks to pass out at the event
• Social Networking: Let all your friends on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc. know about FANATICON! And ask them to spread the word!
• Street Team: The weekend before the event (May 14-15), the FANATICON street team will canvas Asheville, putting up posters and passing out postcards. Then we’ll meet up for pizza afterwards!
On Saturday, May 21
• Traffic Control: Assisting and directing vendors and exhibitors at load-in and break-down. Load-in begins at 7:00AM. Break-down begins at 5:00PM.
• Security: Assisting with crowd control, line management and safety
• Ushers: For events held in the Diana Wortham Theatre
• Greeters/Headcounters: Welcoming people to the convention and passing out swag bags. Greeters include headcount keepers who will be keeping track of attendance numbers.
• A/V: Keeping all our audio/visual and computer equipment in working order for presentations.
• Heroes and Sidekicks: Be a hero for the day or assist a hero throughout the event. Heroes will work in shifts and will get plenty of breaks. Duties include posing for pictures, interacting/mingling with the crowd, talking to the press.
• Raffle: Sell tickets to our raffle.
• Gaming Mods: Help with gaming area set-up, welcome new gamers, help kids start games.
